Edmondson Heating and Boiler Installations services include:
Ground Source Heat Systems have come on along way in the last couple of years. They have become an affordable alternative to traditional boiler systems and can offer heating in Winter and cooling in Summer. Ground Source Heating Systems work by absorbing energy from the ground (heating) and releasing enegy back into the ground (cooling).
Ground Source Heat Systems require a heat exchanger, the component which is responsible for the exchange of enegy to and from the ground. There are three main types of heat exchanger systems: direct exhange (works by circulating refridgerant underground), closed loop (uses a mixture of anti-freeze and water) and open loop (uses natural groundwater).
Another affordable heating system gaining popularity over the last year is Solar Heating Systems. These systems work by absorbing energy transmitted by the sun through a collector usually mounted on the roof of a building. Typically, cold water is transferred to the collector, where it is heated. The heated water is then transferred back to the building where it is stored in a hot water tank.
There are two main types of Solar Hot Water Systems: active and passive. The difference is to do with the way the water is transferred through the system. Active systems pump the water through the system whereas passive systems rely on convection and gravity.
